What A War With North Korea Would Probably Look Like

Back in 2013 during the last major flare up between the U.S. and North Korea I wrote an extensive analysis on the North Korean wild card and how it could be used by globalists as a catalyst for international economic instability titled 'Will Globalists Use North Korea To Trigger Catastrophe?' As I have warned consistently over the years, like Syria, North Korea is a longstanding chaos box; a big red button that the elites can press any time they wish to instigate a chain of greater geopolitical tensions. The question has always been, will they actually use it?

Well, it appears that under the Trump administration the establishment might go for broke. I have not seen U.S. war rhetoric so intense since the second invasion of Iraq, and all over missile tests which have been standard fare for North Korea for many years. With whispers by Trump aides of a possible 50,000 boots on the ground in Syria, and open discussion of preemptive strikes in North Korea, this time kinetic conflict is highly likely.

Yes, we have see such military pressures before, but this time feels different. Why is an aimless quagmire war with massive potential global financial repercussions more likely under Trump? Because Trump ran under a nationalist conservative banner, and he will forever be labeled a nationalist conservative even if his behavior appears to be more globalist in nature. Rhetoric is often more psychologically powerful in the minds of the masses than action. Therefore, EVERYTHING Trump does from now on will also be labeled a product of the “nationalist conservative” ideology; including all of his screw-ups. And, with Trump in office the establishment is perfectly happy to pursue actions once considered taboo, because demonizing conservatives and liberty proponents is one of their primary objectives.

When the real insanity starts, liberty movement activists will gnash their teeth and scream at the top of their lungs that Trump is “not acting like a conservative,” so how can conservative thinking be blamed by extension? But these people just don’t grasp the thought processes of the human mind. No matter how much we try to separate ourselves from the Trump-train if (or when) he goes full-bore globalist, our efforts will be futile. The mainstream media has spent considerable time and effort making sure that all of us are lumped in with the so-called “alt-right.”  Remember, I tried to warn the movement about this long before Trump won the election.

Currently, there are questions as to whether or not a naval task force is en route to North Korea.  I would not trust the latest reports that all units are headed to Australia when Vice President Mike Pence is in Japan yesterday saying "the sword stands ready".  Could this be more posturing or a precursor to a strike scenario? I am reminded of the U.S.S. Maddox which was sent to patrol the waters off of Vietnam, the same destroyer that reported an attack by North Vietnamese torpedo boats which was used as justification for the initiation of the Vietnam War. As it turned out, no such attack actually occurred.

The presence of a U.S. fleet off North Korea could only be intended to instigate further aggression, not defuse the situation.

So, if war with North Korea is inevitable given the circumstances, what would such a war look like? Here are some elements I think are most important; elements that make the war almost unwinnable, if winning is even the purpose…

North Korean Air Defense

The North Koreans spent the better part of the last war with the U.S. being heavily battered by air bombardments. They have had plenty of time since then to consider this problem and prepare. Even the most gung-ho American military minds are forced to admit that using only air based attacks in North Korea is not practical. And where we have been spoiled by steady video streams of laser guided hell dropped on Iraqi and Afghani targets in the past, don’t expect things to go so easily in North Korea.

While North Korea is still rife with economic problems (like every other communist and socialist nation), they still have an industrial base and produce many of their own arms. This includes and extensive missile net backed by a maze of radar systems. Their air force is by all accounts obsolete, but as I have mentioned in the past, advanced missile defense is the wave of the future. It’s cheaper and can render expensive enemy air force and naval units impotent.

North Korea uses an indigenous built surface-to-air missile (SAM) system called the KN-06 which is as capable as some Russian SAM systems. They also field huge numbers of MANPAD (man-portable air defense) units against planes and helicopters attempting to dodge radar defenses at low altitudes. This is layered on top of a vast array of anti-aircraft artillery. And, most of this anti-air apparatus is either mobile or based underground.

What this means is, a ground invasion is the ONLY way to attack North Korea effectively and make room for air units to strike interior targets.

Underground Facilities

The Pentagon estimates at least 6,000 to 8,000 underground military facilities in North Korea. New bases are being discovered all the time.  While “bunker buster” bombs can possibly damage these facilities, it is unlikely that they would be completely destroyed or rendered ineffective. There is also an estimated 84 large tunnels through mountains on the southern border which would allow an immediate invasion by North Korean ground forces into South Korea. Only four of these tunnel exits have been found and blocked by South Korea.

It is important to remember that underground infrastructure has always been the bane of the modern western military. These facilities will not be taken by air. They will have to be taken the hard way — with ground troops.

North Korean Infantry

In 2013 the Department of Defense reported North Korean ground forces at around 950,000. This, of course, does not count their nearly 8 million infantry reserves. They also boast over 200,000 highly trained paramilitary soldiers. North Korea has no means whatsoever to project these forces overseas against the U.S. or anyone else other than South Korea. The only way they can do damage to U.S. forces is if we show up on their doorstep.

Since a ground invasion is the only way to proceed with what will obviously be “regime change” in North Korea, U.S. forces will be facing an endless mire of mountain warfare worse than Afghanistan with limited air support options. If it comes down to a war of attrition rather than superior technology, victory will be impossible in North Korea.

The Nuclear Option

The consensus view among military analysts is that North Korea will never attempt to use nukes offensively because the resulting retaliation by the U.S. would be devastating.  But you often do not hear much discussion about NK using nukes defensively, and what that would mean for an invading army.

I agree that though the mainstream media is bombarding us constantly with images of a psychotic dictatorship, North Korea is not insane enough to use nukes against the U.S. or its allies outright. If such an event did occur, I would immediately suspect the possibility of a false flag because there would be zero gain for North Korea. That said, in the event of a ground invasion into North Korea, the use of nuclear weapons becomes highly advantageous for Pyongyang.

Consider this, with vast numbers of U.S. ground forces operating in the region, nuclear retaliation by the U.S. is simply not going to happen.  A pullout of most troops would have to take place. North Korea needs only one nuke strike to destroy a U.S. fleet or hit a large civilian target in South Korea killing potential millions or hit a U.S. troop base in South Korea killing tens of thousands of American soldiers.

Once we commit ground troops into the region, we make a nuclear attack USEFUL to North Korea, when it never would have been useful before. This is why the preemptive strike rhetoric based on a rational of stopping a “more nuclear capable” North Korea is either pure stupidity or an engineered crisis in the making.

The Chinese Question

Is China’s strange shift in support of tougher actions against North Korea legitimate? Well, if it is, then I think this would support my longtime assertion that China is NOT anti-globalist at all, but just another branch of the globalist cabal. Perhaps Trump’s refusal to label them currency manipulators is also evidence of this. That is a discussion for another time, though.

China’s sudden softening of stance against U.S. pressures on North Korea seems to me to be the most blatant signal that an actual war is coming. If China refuses to present military or economic repercussions to act as a deterrent to invasion, then an invasion is likely to happen.  This does not mean, though, that a future crisis between the U.S. and China is not scheduled.

In fact, an invasion by America into North Korea opens numerous doors to all kinds of crisis events the establishment can exploit. For example, how many people are naive enough to expect that U.S. air maneuvers will respect Chinese air space restrictions? I hope not many.  Having American military units in a war stance so close to the Chinese border is a recipe for disaster, and I am not necessarily referring to military disaster.

War, contrary to popular belief, is not good for the economy. In fact, war is the perfect poison for economic trade and production. The U.S. in particular is utterly dependent on the international use of the dollar as the world reserve currency. Without this status, the American economy is dead in the water. China is a central pillar in global trade and could, with the help of a few other nations, kill the dollar's reserve status very quickly.

If you are curious as to why international financiers would be interested in undermining the U.S. economy in such a way, I suggest you read my article The Economic End Game Explained. The greater point is this — a war with North Korea would have nothing to do with North Korea. It would only be a means to a greater end. There are those people out there who claim to be "conservative" that always weasel out of the woodwork in times like these to pound the war fever drum.  But if you think that forced regime change overseas is America's job or duty you are not a conservative, you are a statist.

I also cringe at the crowd of dupes that constantly bubbles to the surface claiming this time around, the invasion will be "easy", parroting the party line.  "Done in two months!", they say.  The delusion inherent in this thinking is astounding, and comes from the old-guard Republican/Neo-Con ideology.  Remember how quick and cheap they said Iraq and Afghanistan would be?  At bottom, there is little or nothing to be gained by Americans in this kind of conflagration.  So we should be asking ourselves, who actually would gain from it?

Bad move
written by Tron , April 19, 2017

Bad move for American forces. Entrapment of American naval forces, 3 carriers, in a confined area. Flying distance from China.
US military is depleted needs restructuring and befitting. Not enough manpower for sustained conflict. Air war would be very costly over NK airspace. Attrition rate on aircraft for maintenance, regular and combat induced, would reduce effectiveness in short order. Supply line is long and costly.
NK has been building missles for export for years. Nothing new there and no previous dedicated action taken around the world. They have tested missiles within guidelines. Saber rattling keeps lil Kim in office.
Looks like a set up. Remember war resets debt. Also half your government are globalist and communist so they like taking down the republic. War gives internal control to government. Ever see a politician who doesn't want to tell you what's good for you?
Pray for a stop but keep the powder dry - you may need it

North Korea has no central bank but still suffers tremendously economically. You're on record for predicting war with North Korea, thats a big ask, let's see what happens. Where do you stand on the upcoming french election. Tensions should rise in June with a stock market decline, North Korea won't go through because not enough members of congress would vote for such a stupid action. North Korea would have to attack South Korea first which you forgot to mention, if that happened then perhaps war would occur.

@Kirk

I'm actually not on record as predicting war with North Korea, I simply stated that the chances seem to be higher with Trump in office and China backing away from its protective stance. When I make a prediction, I will actually say "I predict..."

I continue to believe that given the current situation in Europe and the numerous smaller terrorist attacks that have occurred in the past couple months that Marine Le Pen will win the French election.

Most wars lately have not been declared by Congress. The president can do whatever he pleases with the legislative framework in place post-9/11. Just look at how many little wars Obama started without congressional approval. That said, I would not rule out a false flag attack in the near future. North Korea will never give the US an open rationale for invasion by attacking the south.

"The question has always been, will they actually use it?"

Yes, they will.
1). The objective is a sole global power under Absolute Authority of governance and eliminate capital flight.

2). Major wars as world war/nuclear war deflects from deception, manipulation, and ultimately utilizes 'nationalists', 'liberty movement', and other dissident groups as cannon fodder to bleed them dry. Nuclear war has the benefit of providing undeniable necessity of man-made climate change solutions presently failing.

3). We even have the author of the Grand Chessboard on record stating it's easier to kill millions than control millions.

4). National central banks are expandable. Remember, these people follow Collectivist ideology where the individual is meaningless and must sacrifice themselves for the 'greater good'.

"Remember, I tried to warn the movement about this long before Trump won the election."

World War, Limited Nuclear warfare, and economic implosion along with enabling evidence of action in subjugation at the feet of Nationalists and Liberty Supporters who survive are tarnished likely indefinitely. It will fall under 'dangerous thoughts'.

Frankly, I'd be amazed if they didn't use the chaos to deflect from deception and manipulation as any other method disables their ability to sidestep effectively.
You need a series of severely catastrophic events that enable severe demonize a particular group with so many already not trusting those instruments much.

If you look at the Harbinger concept of the occult, they stated voting Trump leads to major warfare and subjugation, and Clinton leads to economic.

Translation, if it was going to be purely economic, Clinton would win. If not, Trump would.

Brandon Smith

@Krebs

You would probably see Tomahawks in use but with minimal effect due to many NK units being mobile or underground. Air units would try nibbling at the edges, but NK's radar maze and missile defense is pretty airtight. "Stealth" fighters are overrated. New radar methods make them essentially useless. The Russians and Chinese know this well and I would assume the North Koreans are privy. If it was easy to invade their air space it would have already been done.

Flying low to avoid radar isn't an option either. The North Koreans string steal wires across all their mountain ranges to tear up low flying aircraft and untold numbers of MANPADS wait on the ground.

Basically, an air campaign would be a no go. You would need troops to break down radar bunkers and remove anti-aircraft emplacements. You would need special operations to laser mark vital targets. What I'm saying is, it would not be pleasant, not to mention, a pointless war to begin with.

Given your view that Le Pen is being favored for winning the French elections, do you believe it is more likely that her opponent in the runoff will be Macron or Mélenchon?

I ask since Mélenchon has had a suspiciously well-timed spike in the polls, and the official narrative in MSM paints him as as big a "populist" danger as Le Pen, and arranging for deathmatch of "populists" seems like a silver bullet for spurring a market crisis and in the long run defanging the residual anti-globalization elements on the Left.

Even if such options exist (I've seen no evidence that they do), a war with NK would not be about NK; it would be about creating further global destabilization. Also, communist regimes are pretty steadfast in replacing figureheads. I doubt Kim Jong-un is actually in charge of anything. Look to the military leaders and the bureaucrats to find the real decision makers.

Enjoyed your article Brandon.

Something to perhaps be wary of is that next week in New York "Operation Gotham Shield" is taking place.

From erhc.org:

"On Tuesday April 25th 2017, at 0800 the Gotham Shield Exercise will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford NJ. This exercise will simulate a large scale terrorist attack on the NY/NJ metropolitan area with MetLife Stadium serving as a triage/collection point for victims and emergency response personnel. This will be a large scale event with numerous federal, state, county and local agencies participating. It should be very similar in size and scope to the Operation Red Zone drill of 2011."

Mike Pence said to reporters yesterday that the "shield stands guard and sword stands ready" in relation to North Korea.

Operation Gotham Shield - The Shield Stands Ready. Here's hoping its a coincidence (as much as I'm inclined to think they don't exist anymore).

"I guess I'm not seeing the hook of your thesis. I know what the globalists gain, but what does China gain from US involvement?"

Russia and China aren't decoupled of globalism, but they are already Authoritarian governments propped up by public-private mergers (Plutocracy) that becomes an Aristocracy through extended rule.
The globalists pulling the trigger on war results in replacing man-made climate change based on CO2 to radioactive isotopes, and the US military focused on unconventional warfare effectively gets slammed in a confrontation with Russia or China by war-game scenarios conducted by the War College.

The globalists are only loyal to their own supranational political ideologies that serves them; the rest are expendable. They don't need control; they simply need their enclaves from being targeted and to do that you need to influence both sides.

Think of it as a total reset button, and they are psychopaths and sociopaths.

World wide nuclear war will not happen. With total chaos, the elites lose all control, and thus they become targets. They need directed chaos. Economic crisis is FAR more likely than nuclear crisis. Also, the elites have spent the past few decades and untold trillions establishing biometric surveillance grids in major cities around the world, including those in Russia and China. So, why do this if they plan to simply vaporize all that infrastructure in a series of mushroom clouds?

Does not compute. Beyond that, your response did not really answer my question to AlternativeView.

No, China and the US are both under the direction of globalist interests. No one is seeking "territory". They are simply doing as they are told. The only people that win in this situation are the globalists. The chaos created though North Korea can be used to cover for the economic reset, which they have been staging since 2008, as well as the ultimate death of the dollar's world reserve status.

No Reason to Remove NK Threat
written by TruthSeeker777 , April 21, 2017

Let's all stop with the BS about North Korea being invaded to install a Rothschild bank. That is misdirection and not helpful. If that was truly the agenda, then why wasn't the Cuban regime overthrown like 50 years ago? Why is it still in power today? No, the banking cabal is already firmly in control. That's not what this is about. Just like the Castros have always been nothing but CIA thugs, Kim Jong Un is just a cartoon character with zero power.

As Brandon has explained so many times, there is a much larger game being played. It's about destabilization, constant fear, and order out of chaos. Why remove Kim when he is so useful? Any time the world needs a little jolt of fear, this chubby little Korean man is trotted out to say a bunch of nonsense. No reason to get rid of such a great propaganda tool.

That said, a false flag on the West Coast has been foreshadowed and may happen and be blamed on North Korea. If that happens, we'll know that Kim Jong Un has served his purpose and his time is up, but he will not be removed preemptively. Every major action is about making progress toward the end game. Kim still has a big role to play. A good stage character isn't eliminated unless something can be gained from it.

Let's pretend for a second that the situation with NK and its regime is even real -- all the info we get from that place is like a low-budget Hollywood film. Anyway, how would it help China to get rid of that regime...and risk a UNITED Korea? If China wants to continue dominating the region, a divided Korea, as it stands now, remains in its best interest.

Response to Brandon Smith
written by Seen2013 , April 21, 2017

"So, why do this if they plan to simply vaporize all that infrastructure in a series of mushroom clouds?"

1). Solves the urban warfare issue.

2). the US populace is polarized, and where law enforcement and military would hesitate Russian and Chinese forces don't have that handicap particularly with groups as Oath Keepers.
You do know Russia and China assessed the NICS system several years ago during Obama's Presidency, and China demands gun confiscation of the US?

3). Keynesian Economists as Paul Krugman states such disasters as the Japanese earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear meltdown is a investment opportunity to rebuild it stronger than before.

4). Psychopaths and sociopaths have no qualm having dissidents laboring in radioactive regions.

Why make it prior? They justify rebuilding it stronger than before by destroying it.

5). According to the highest ranking Soviet Defector, China is part of the 'Eurasian Union' aspirations that called Soviet-Sino tensions a total sham designed to train Soviet and Chinese soldiers through the most merciless teacher of all 'field experience'.

6). The globalists themselves are not threatened in the slightest by nuclear warfare, and it bleeds the nations of their nationalist populations. The remaining population will rally towards supranationalism as they did after World War I and World War II, but this time I'd expect it to go full-fledged.
It failed after the 100 years war, it formed after World War I, and the World War II version lacks the authority of governance-enforcement.

It also saves the trouble of demolition of Industrial capacities given that they were vaporized, and the depleted arsenals can be used to promote global governance to prevent nuclear weapons development with enforcement of supranational governance-enforcement.

People don't have to accept absolute authority by subversion if they are compelled to collaborate by invasion.

Can the Fed front this out?
written by Patterson , April 21, 2017

I am hearing analysts say that soon the Fed will cut rates back again and even do QE4.

This would look like an admission they saw the error of their ways and reversed course.

I'm guessing you DON'T believe this will happen as you've explained very clearly it is a controlled demolition. To my mind you have already been proven right in this view by predicting the rate rises - and there have been two.

Rates rises in this environment are suicidal and the Fed went ahead did them anyway so the notion that it was an "honest mistake" can't be taken seriously.

The thing is it would look heartless of them not to lift a finger if everyone is screaming "please help us" and clearly it's their intention not to take any blame for this.

I've a couple of questions.

Do you think it will be hard for them to do further rate rises without incurring public wrath - or will they just front it out and keep raising?

and do you think the Fed could wheel out QE4 (and maybe it would STILL be useless?)

1) Not really. In fact, the warfare issue overall would be worse for the elites without biometric surveillance. They would never be able to track potential insurgents.

2) Chinese and Russian governments would not have the ability to project forces for an invasion after an all out nuclear exchange. This is a bit of a cinematic idea, like Red Dawn. Not practical.

3) There will be no rebuilding for many decades after a nuclear exchange on a scale that would constitute "profitability". Krugman is talking about smaller scale disaster, and he knows that theory is garbage anyway.

4) The psychopaths and sociopaths we are dealing with are high functioning - which means they have THEIR BEST INTERESTS in mind always. If a nuclear war was in their best interests, they would have initiated one already. They had the capacity and the excuse for decades. They know that there are far better methods to get what they want.

5) Has nothing to do with the practicality of nuclear war for the elites.

6) As already stated, the globalists are COMPLETELY threatened by the advent of a nuclear war. They lose ALL CONTROL. It is utterly naive to think that the dust is going to settle and the hardened survivors of a nuclear event are going to run into the arms of a bunch of bankers who were hiding in their $100 million bunkers. The bankers would have NOTHING to offer them.

Again, the idea of the globalists seeking a deliberate nuclear war is childish nonsense that people cling to because they have seen far too many movies. The real threat is not an immediate event, but the steady decline of economy and society into disarray. There is absolutely no advantage to a nuclear war that the elites could not get from an economic breakdown while still maintaining control.

People will be compelled by the nature of economics and starvation and false paradigms into cooperation. The elites are not going to sacrifice trillions in useful infrastructure on what amounts to a nuclear gamble. That would be pure stupidity.

That said, it is pointless to argue hypothetical scenarios. We shall see who is right in due course. I have been right about most things so far, so I don't plan on changing my positions now.

@Patterson

They already have their rationale for the rate hikes locked in. They have been hinting in the media that "Trump's policies" are compelling them to increase interest rates. As if they had not been planning to raise rates long before Trump was president. How else could I have predicted what they would do?

The Fed will not initiate any further stimulus until a market crisis is in full swing, and even then, they might not do anything. They can always blame Trump.

Personally, I hope you are, but it is a possibility that I can't rule out especially given insurgents would have to target that infrastructure anyway.

I would definitely suggest that every prepper have the correct gear in place for a nuclear event. Even though I have extreme doubts of any nuclear "war" occurring, I do think a nuclear terrorist attack or a false flag is possible in the near term. People should always have their potassium iodide, a geiger counter in case you are down wind of an attack, proper mask and NBC filters and a bug out plan or basement that you can weather the two to three weeks it takes for the nuclear fallout to hit its half life so that you can go outside again.

Le Pen
written by Truthseeker777 , April 23, 2017

Little doubt now that Le Pen will win. I hope everyone is seeing clearly. Trump, Le Pen, Wilders, Farage, etc. are ALL globalist/Zionist puppets. Globalism is being further advanced through so-called nationalism. These puppets will make "conservatives" look like incompetent idiots, and "nationalism" will become a dirty word before this is over, making further global integration the accepted path forward.

Anyone doubting this should go and look into the backgrounds of these people. Is everyone aware that Wilders is Jewish and lived in Israel? He has even praised Zionism numerous times. These people are all frauds. They are false heroes for the people to rally around. Don't fall for it.

The 1st Korean War Never Ended

Just wanted to point this out. It was just a cease fire. No treaty was ever signed by all countries involved. So the war with NK was never ended

The War With North Korea - Has Anyone Made A Decision Yet ?

I was impressed by your thoughts on the subject of a North Korean conflict. Having recently retired I have just started blogging myself. I hope you don't mind but I referenced your article in my own blog on a potential conflict in the Korean Peninsular. Being new to this blogging thing I wasn't sure of the protocols of seeking permission to reference people's work so I did it first then thought I'd better let you know

Hi John,

I don't have any problem with it, as long as you link back to Alt-Market as the original source for the article.

Triggering the catastrophe
written by Renewed , April 24, 2017

Brandon, with the shut down looming and one that could last a long while, unless Trump is willing to cave, do you think the proverbial finger is poised on the trigger for this week? Just saw that the D.C. area now has a terrorist exercise set for the 26th. Lots happening in the next several days!
