Let’s be honest, quite a few Americans love a good war, especially those Americans who have never had to bear witness to one first hand. War is the ultimate tribally vicarious experience. Anyone, even pudgy armchair generals with deep-seated feelings of personal inadequacy, can revel in the victories and actions of armies a half a world away as if they themselves stood on the front lines risking possible annihilation at the hands of dastardly cartoon-land “evil doers”. They may have never done a single worthwhile thing in their lives, but at least they can bask in the perceived glory of their country’s military might.
This attitude of swollen ego through proxy is not limited to the “Right” side of the political spectrum as some might expect. In fact, if the terrifyingly demented presidency of Barack Obama has proven anything so far, it is that elements of the “Left” are just as bloodthirsty as any NeoCon, and just as ready to blindly support the political supremacy of their “side” regardless of any broken promises, abandoned principles, or openly flaunted hypocrisies. No matter how reasonable or irrefutable the arguments against a particular conflict are, there will ALWAYS be a certain percentage of the populace which ignores all logic and barrels forward to cheerlead violent actions which ultimately only benefit a select and elite few.
They do this, though they rarely openly admit it, because of unbalanced and irrational biases which drive their decision making processes. In the case of the wars in the Middle East, the common public argument boils down to one of “self defense”. “They are coming to get us!” At least, that is what we are constantly told. And I’m sure that some Americans out there truly believe this. However, in their heart of hearts, others instead relish the idea of imposing their world views and philosophical systems upon others, even if it means using cluster bombs and predator drones.
Some people simply hate Muslims, for one reason or another. Some people believe that war will bring with it economic gain. Some are so afraid of what they do not comprehend that they only feel secure by attacking it. Some believe that the U.S. citizenry is morally obligated to become entangled with governments like Israel’s, and support them without question as if they are infallible, though they are often just as corrupt as the governments we are directed to despise. And yet others (for religious purposes), actually clamor for Middle Eastern destruction in the desperate hopes that their version of biblical prophecy will be vindicated. Ultimately, most Americans who support continued destruction in the Middle East, or anywhere else for that matter, do so out a selfish need for private absolution and elevation, not out of a sincere sense of patriotism, and not because nations like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, or Iran present a legitimate danger to their safety.
These men and women have invested their very identities into the mechanizations of collective war. They will not be swayed by evidence or honorable arguments. Any criticism of the actions of the collective will immediately be treated as a personal attack on their individual character, causing their minds to shut down completely.
As far as Iran is concerned, I am not here to convince the war-drum pounding zombie hoards infesting the mentally impotent sewage soaked wastelands of my country that their rationalizations for raining laser guided death on the third world is a “reprehensible thing”. Given their impenetrable biases, which I listed above, that would be a complete waste of time.
I could, indeed, point out how in 1953 the U.S. and Britain overthrew the democratically elected leader of Iran, Mohammad Mossaddegh, because he refused to allow global corporate interests to exploit his country’s oil resources. I could outline how the forced CIA installation of the Shah in Iran and the creation of his secret police led to the torture and murder of thousands of innocent people. I could list similar covert activities over the past 100 years or so, in countries all over the world, which have created the now universal disdain the third world has for the U.S. government. I could even show them a PBS special from 1987 which effectively details this history and warns of what is now going on today. The kind of mainstream news coverage that networks currently blacklist honest and daring journalists for:
But what about all the nuclear talk being shoved down our throats lately? Doesn’t this supersede any historical concerns between Iran and the U.S.? What if the terrorists get their hands on “the bomb”?!
On this issue, I could easily interject the fact that countries supposedly hostile to the U.S., like North Korea, have long had nuclear capability, and certainly the means to use infiltrators to deliver that technology, yet, we haven’t sent the Western war machine after them. I would also set the record straight by mentioning that the ONLY country in the world that has used a nuclear weapon against another is the U.S. I could educate these people on the exposure of secret Israeli nuclear weapons programs since the 1970’s, and the fact that Israel even attempted to illegally sell this technology to Apartheid South Africa:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2010-05-24/israel-tried-to-sell-nuclear-weapons/839404
I could try to clear the air by reminding the uninformed that Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta recently admitted that Iran has no nuclear weapons capability. And, that this fact was repeated by an Iranian nuclear scientist, Sharhram Amiri, who defected to the U.S. in 2010 with the help of the CIA in the hopes that he could be used to disseminate propaganda on “secret” nuclear weapons programs in his former homeland. Instead, he only reinforced the assertion that there are no such programs:
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/LG21Ak01.html
With the CIA made to look foolish, they have now decided that Amiri is “peripheral” to the Iranian nuke programs, and is no longer a solid source of information. I could follow by pointing out how decidedly convenient this is…
What about all the similarities between the lies on WMD’s in Iraq and the rhetoric against Iran today? What about the disinformation put forward by the IAEA and its cadre of foreign policy yes-men?
What about the fact that back when Iran was run by our own puppet leader, the Shah, an iron-fisted sociopathic dictator, we were more than happy that the country was developing nuclear power plants:
Sorry, but sharing this information with the warmongering percentage of our American culture is futile. None of this data means a thing to them. For these people, it’s not about facts; it’s about foggy perception, uncontrolled emotion, and false identity. Understanding the situation only complicates their pursuit of the next collectivist high; that frenetic freak frenzy that takes hold of a population and makes them swarm like mad bees, or hungry piranha, poisoning and devouring everything in their path.
With this in mind, the only recourse I could possibly think of to wake them up to their philosophical and moral folly is to expose them to very real and debilitating consequences they will face in their everyday lives in the wake of expanded conflict on the part of the U.S. That is to say, you may hate Iran, you may hate Iranians, you may despise Muslims, you may be driven by a childish need to live vicariously through the exploits of your government, or, you might actually believe the hype that Iran is in league with Al-Qaeda, that they really are after nuclear weapons in a diabolical plot to harm Americans, and you might truly believe that Israel is that “beacon of freedom” in the Middle East and that all its neighbors must be pacified for the sake of democracy. At bottom, whatever your deepest intentions, and whatever you might think, this is irrelevant in the face of the inevitable costs of war. If you support such a war, here is how it will affect you when it breaks loose:
Exploding Oil Prices
The U.S. has had a ban on Iranian oil imports since 1979, however, Iran still supplies about 5% of the global oil market. This might not seem like much, but Iran also has the means and ability to shut down the Straight of Hormuz, which is one of two major petroleum choke points in the world. Around 17 million barrels of oil per day are shipped through the Straight of Hormuz, or about 20% of all oil traded worldwide.
In 2006, during the last major Iran war scare, experts predicted gasoline price increases in excess of $10 a gallon if Iran was invaded.
http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/07/news/international/iran_oil/
This would devastate the U.S. economy, which is already hanging by a thin thread. Iran has announced this past weekend it will cease all oil shipments to Britain and France in protest of their support of economic sanctions. This alone is causing oil to spike today. A global energy crisis will financially decimate average citizens who will have their savings sapped by extreme price inflation, not just in gasoline, but in all goods that require the use of gasoline in their production and shipping. If you like this idea, then by all means, support an invasion of Iran.
War Domino Effect
In January of 2010, I wrote an article for Neithercorp Press entitled “Will Globalists Trigger Yet Another World War”. In that article, I warned about the dangers of an invasion of Iran or Syria being used to foment a global conflict, in order to create a crisis large enough to distract the masses away from the international banker created economic collapse:
http://www.alt-market.com/neithercorp/press/2010/01/will-globalists-trigger-yet-another-world-war/
In 2006, Iran signed a mutual defense pact with its neighbor, Syria, which is also in the middle of its own turmoil and possible NATO intervention. Syria has strong ties to Russia, and even has a revamped Russian naval base off its coast, a fact rarely mentioned by the mainstream media. Both Russia and China have made their opposition clear in the case of any Western intervention in Iran or Syria. An invasion by the U.S. or Israel in these regions could quickly intensify into wider war between major world powers. If you like the idea of a world war which could eventually put you and your family in direct danger, then by all means, support an invasion of Iran.
Dollar Collapse
Make no mistake, the U.S. dollar is already on the verge of collapse, along with the U.S. economy. Bilateral trade agreements between BRIC and ASEAN nations are sprouting up everywhere the past couple months, and these agreements are specifically designed to end the dollar’s status as the world reserve currency. An invasion of Iran will only expedite this process. If global anger over the resulting chaos in oil prices doesn’t set off a dump of the dollar, the eventual debt obligation incurred through the overt costs of war will. Ron Paul has always been right; it doesn’t matter whether you think invasion is a good idea or not. We simply CANNOT afford it. America is bankrupt. Our only source of income is our ability to print money from thin air. Each dollar created to fund new wars brings our currency ever closer to its demise.
This combination of disastrous economic policy and disastrous foreign policy has actually been used before. Great Britain once sat in the position of economic authority that the U.S. sits in today, and the pound sterling was once considered the world reserve because it was required in the global trade of oil, just as the dollar is now. However, British intrigues in the Middle East, and more specifically in Egypt, led them into extreme debt. In the 1940’s and 1950’s, international banks led by America and France threatened to dump British Treasury Bonds in response to their efforts to dominate Middle Eastern oil. Does any of this sound familiar?
This ultimately led to considerable devaluation of the pound. In 1967, the death blow was finally delivered when Prime Minister Harold Wilson artificially reduced the British exchange rate by 14% overnight! Meaning, in the span of a single evening, British citizens lost 14% of their buying power, and every product they went out to buy the next day would cost them 14% more.
It would be practical to mention that the move to destroy the British pound came right in time for the implementation of new programs for the construction of the European Union, and the Euro, the new supranational currency which would later become the standard. The EU and the Euro never could have come about while the Pound Sterling remained a world reserve. Just another amazing coincidence I’m sure, and one that couldn’t possibly have any relation to what is happening to the dollar in 2012, right…?
So, if you like the idea of losing 14% or more of your buying power overnight, and having that financial loss blamed on the tides of war, rather than on the corporate bankers who actually created the mess, then by all means, support an invasion of Iran.
Civil Liberties Destroyed
Do you like being able to walk down the street without having to suffer through constant pat-downs by low wage brain-dead cretins in blue gloves? Does it make you feel good to know that if you are ever arrested, whether you are guilty or not, you are guaranteed by law to receive a fair trial by your peers in a civilian court with a lawyer by your side? Do you enjoy taking a long drive with the family without facing check points, and predator drones constantly overhead every time you put the top down to feel the wind in your hair? Don’t get too comfortable, folks! These “luxuries” will soon be a thing of the past, especially as the U.S. financial situation deteriorates and war escalates. Think of all the new threats the elites in our government can use to rationalize the usurpation of Constitutional protections when war with Iran, or Syria, or Russia, or China, or all of them at once, breaks out.
The term “terrorist” will take on a whole different dynamic. Great national dangers often facilitate broader definitions of who is and who is not an “enemy of the state”. Crisis gives wings to legislation like the NDAA. In this kind of despotic environment, no one, even those citizens who support the state in nearly all of its enterprises, is safe. Maybe you love the idea of war with Iran, but at the same time, hate the idea of having a TSA goon manhandling your wife or daughter in a train station or on a street corner. Good luck with that. Speaking out could be treated as disruption of national security measures. Off to the gulag with you!
The “greater good” somehow always entails the dissolution of civil liberties for the common man. Invariably, the establishment in power favors no one, save a highly connected few. Being pro-establishment does not necessarily protect you from a government given free reign to do whatever it pleases in wartime. In the end, everyone is fair game.
If this is the kind of America you want to live in, by all means, support an invasion of Iran.
If You Can’t See The Big Picture, You Can’t See A Thing…
The relentless drive for war in the Middle East is not about “spreading democracy”. It is not about terrorism. It is not about oil (at least for the most part). It is not about Israel (at least, not the Israeli people). It is not even about corporate profiteering by the Military Industrial Complex. War in the Middle East is about changing the way our country and our world operates, culturally, socially, financially, and politically. War opens doors to social re-engineering that could never be accomplished otherwise. War creates fear, panic, rage, and allows dystopian fallacies to reign supreme. War, unjust and dishonorable war, makes countries weak, and ripe for violent change.
Iran is not a threat to our way of life, and never has been. But, war in Iran could easily upset the core of our entire country, and leave us wayward strangers in the land we were born.
While much of the rhetoric of preemptive invasion that America has been awash in these past few months is carefully crafted and disseminated by government entities whose intentions are far from honest, its effectiveness is mute without the helping hand of a thoughtless subsection of the public. Every decade or so, a new generation of idiot spawn comes of age to be willingly sacrificed on the chopping block of globalist conquest. This new decade brings with it the promise of not just more of the same, but perhaps the most costly tithe to the gods of war ever made in our country’s history. This is not our fight. This is a fight we are being conned into undertaking for the profit of others, and thus, it is a fight we cannot win. Perhaps when the blind mobs of this nation feel the abrupt sting of their foolishness in their narrow day-to-day existence, they will finally understand…

Now that Panetta is once again SecDef, he is once again implementing force reduction and ordering the branches to put out as many personnel as they can under regs. My husband says his unit announced that an "early out" program will be starting as soon as March.
I am glad you mentioned the overthrow of Mossadegh, as that is considered to be still recent history in the land once called the Persian Empire.

The BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2011 contains a lot of useful data. One point worth noting is that world oil consumption (oil defined as crude oil, shale oil, oil sands and NGLs) is 6% ABOVE world oil production. So we are already seeing a deficit of 6% which is being filled by the harder-to-get non-conventional fuels. Take out Iran's 5% and we face a deficit of 11%.

Mr. Smith,
I enjoy your writings and agree with most but I am wondering why you use the term "neocon" in context with conservatives? Others seem to do the same.
According to sources I checked with to define that term, Wikipedia and others, the term originated with liberals labelling other liberals as such because some libs were opposed to soviet style socialism.
If it is a name called against liberals by other liberals how is it now used to attack conservatives?
Just wondering.
Thanks

I have long agreed with your policy of opting out of the current "game" that the elitists and globalists have concocted.
Just don't follow their rules. In that spirit, I have encouraged my sons to refuse any military call to arms. Philosophically this is a tough thing for me to do since I am a veteran and dearly love my country. However, it is time to realize that the leaders of this nation have taken the wrong road and that a trumped-up war is not the answer. Your assessment of the outcome of such insane decisions is accurate. History proves you are right. Our greatest enemy resides in our capital city.

I read it today at Zerohedge. Excellent job. Unlike a lot of political screeds, you used facts not conspiracy theories.
Conservatives have steadily been forced out of the Republican party since Reagan was elected. Those that call themselves conservatives these days are neocons, the same breed as Elliot Abrams, Richard Perle, Kenneth Adelman and the rest of Reagan's merry band of international criminals.
Conservative stalwarts like Richard Lugar, who will likely be defeated this year after a stellar career in the Senate, are a dying breed. But, I will say that the current crop of Republican presidential candidates fairly represent the party, a bunch of clowns. And that in no way excuses the Dems who are at least as witless, with a few notable exceptions.
Bottom line, it is time for a clean sweep of DC.

I am not sure how this missunderstanding is happenning. I have not commented on any particular event. My full conversation has been on the Big Picture. Whether we go to war in Iran or with china or russia or egypt or the rest of the world, the results are the same . We are being played by the elitses . As long as we fuel thier fires and blame each other we gain nothing as you frequently say we must get off the grid. I personaly cant get much more off the grid.
I hope you can begin to realize that I am with you . I have been reading your articles for some time I have given copies of your articles to many a troubled soul.
Do the reasons we go to war really matter, and if you wish to avoid such how would you go about it. Maybe like me you could encourage more people to stop fueling of the fire. Turn the heat down dont crank the ac stopo buying all the junk from walmart begin making clothes in this country .
We have the power to stop the fires.

Consider please just how much oil is wasted every year by the US military, we are talking billions of litres of fuel to keep the US afloat as an overbloated military power that it is.
One of the biggest things Americans can really do is to force the government to reveal just how much fuel, oil in production is wasted on its adventurism, I think you will find it is the single largest consumption and therefore waste of precious fossil fuels you can imagine.
Consider too if Ron Paul did win, if Ron Paul did collapse the American military empire and use the manpower to rebuild American industry, how much less of a drain on the world resources that will see, oil would actually come down, America would be less reliant on its enemies for fuel supply.
Also, perhaps most Americans do not realise that in a fuel crisis that the US is treaty and promise bound to supply Israel with its fuel needs above that of the American citizen, so when you can't get out, can't drive your car and the pumps are dry, think a cheery thought that Israeli's are able to flounce around without a care in the world and thinking to themselves what a bunch of mugs the Yanks truly are.

Brandon, I think I understand your anger. Some might believe that any kind of anger is counter-productive. I would disagree. There are times when truly righteous anger can be constructive because it shows those willing to listen just how serious a situation is. I am thinking here, for some reason, about Jesus in the temple with the money-changers. That was anger but it was appropriate at the time and place. If we readers cannot understand why you seem to get "so worked up", then perhaps we need to take a look at ourselves, and ask why we aren't outraged too.

Fantastic Article...Well Done, a great deal of food for thought.
Loss of Civil Liberties is probably the scariest thing. We do tend to take Freedom forgranted. Freedom in General...Although an abstract construct, there is nothing like war, fear mongering, the threat of phantom enemies etc to erode away at basic Human Rights- Freedom being the the foundation.
Beware- The freedom to speak out, may be seen as a threat to society very soon and constitute the grounds for being seen as an enemy of the state. And data gathering mechanisms such as Facebook etc....wonderful ways of monitoring and controlling the population....
During the Military Junta in Greece late 1960s....People use to be arrested for the most innane reasons, for having been in contact with supposed suspect individuals, for certain things said/done in the past, having in their possession "suspect" literature, or just because a neighbour made claims about them to the police.....So anything you freely express today...Under different circumstances, can come back to bite you....No matter how innocent...And this leads to a creation of a fearful population. Best to keep your mouth shut and not express any opinion. It can get you into a great deal of trouble.
And during wartime, as we saw with Guantanemo Bay...You can be held with no charge, for as long as they like. As you said...Off to the Gulag...Let injustice rule, justified by labelling those against you- A threat to the Public- endorsed by laws, put in place to protect society, a la post 9/11...

It's sad to say and even sadder to witness but the masses could care less about facts. Fact-based decisions, i.e., those that are logical, rational and based on common sense, are no longer part of the people's repertoire. For the most part, decisions are based on feelings and emotions and controlled through what is called the 'Hegelian Dialect'; the process our masters use to control us. Couple this with the intentional dumbing down of the masses and you end up with a population that can no longer be called sentient beings. I've tried educating the masses for so long that I now, sadly, have to admit defeat. Most people would rather watch the Super Bowl than to discuss topics of relevance such as our current system of money creation or politics. Now if you'll excuse me, I recorded 4 episodes of American Idol that I NEED to watch. Great article btw!

We all know them by the fruits that they give. Nothing worth feeding yourself with. They will be cut down and thrown into the fire. There is one thing they have right, The living dead series playing on AMC. Gives a prophetic insight into the near future of Amerika. Why fight for oil? We got enough of it! Regarding last years statistics, we exported 96 million gallons of 'refined fuel', and we imported less crude oil than we exported too. Why don't we allow our oil reserves to fill up again to be used for emergency purposes. Instead we put it right away back into the market, just to keep up the appearance that we are dependent on other nations oil, which in reality is not the case. It's just a money game!

I must apoogize Brandon, didnt mean to start such a debate. But while we are here, and to show my diverse view, you will find in the huffington post today an article about the IAEA and iran.
I know where you are coming from and feel your pain, but why do you as do most libs ,why do you never mention the good that our nation does. How many of our sons and daugters have died preservng the lives of muslims around the world.in order to good you must first defeat the evil.and evil will not be honest to you about their intent. I have had crackheads working for me they say i would never steel from you while they are loading my equipment in their trunk.
I did not begin this dialog to attack you,and you may notice I do no name calling or childish bable, the reason ? My messahge is to impoprtant and I cn not afford to make enemiies.if you had to take sides today what criteria would you employ to determine friend or foe? This has been my every thought for many a day. Would you consider a persons stand on Iran or thier ability to grow tomatoes, would it be whether they are Christian ,Jewish,Muslim or if they own a tractor or a barn. Can you begin to see why Iran and their desire for nuclear wepons ,or lack of it ,is not so important as to how to survive.
8 have to believe that most Americans are good and support that part of our Constitution which empopwers each of us to do what is right .how can we unite this group of Patriots without being called isolatioists or racists or homophobs. We are handcuffed by political correctness, and if you will not recognize your enemy you cannot shrug of the cloak of politial correctness, that which has blinded us for so long.

It is people such as atheist avenger who represent the mentally challenged portion of America who have allowed themselves to be so utterly brainwashed and controlled by the elite, the zionist necons and their mouth pieces of the mainstream media..
Either by default or by choice they simply cannot comprehend the idea they are being lied to and convinced they are under attack. This is the typical reaction of the ill-informed, many times poorly educated, but not always so, who hold the belief that the government has the best interest of the people at heart and would never lie to them nor lead them into disastrous situation that we are now close to realizing.
As you stated before, they live vicariously through the actions of others ie: televised sports, Dancing With the Stars and of course war. Most of these types have never served much less ever been in a combat situation, yet they whole heartedly support any and all wars against a make believe enemy. It makes them feel good. It makes them feel like somebody special. It fills a void in their lives left from the feeling s of inadequacy: economic, physical or sexual. This is their chance to feel powerful even though they take no direct involvement. They are the do nothings. The know nothings. The lazy, ignorant and oft times belligerent narcissists who display a psychopathy towards others.
They often lead quiet lives of desperation.

Excellent article.
In the opening salvos of the war to come, we have some insights from the war games the pentagon had played. Iran will be devastated, but the U.S. will be as well.
The battle will be asymmetric. Isreal will start it off with either their preferred false flag attack on the U S,, aided by threw U.S. Or, by a direct attack.
The Iranians are far from defenseless. once they are attacked, the Iranians will respond with skvall torpedoes, sunbyrn, yakonts, and other cruise missiles and an impossibly large armada of small ships.
In that attack,.the U.S. will lose all major vessels in the gulf, three aircraft carriers and a couple of nuclear subs. Ditto for a.couple of major air bases and the oil terminuses throughout the region.
Iran will suffer devestating retaliation, probably including nuclear weapons from Isreal and the U.S.
Israel too will be devastated by retaliation.
Oil will cease to flow. All of the economies of the world will collapse. And that is just the first day.
Day 2 will opwlen with an orgy of pent up hatreds. By the end of day 2 the green glass fields of what was formerly Isreal and Palastine will begin to cool, as the rest of the world exchanges nuclear greetings ending the anthropocene era, and leaving a nice isotope marker in the geologic record for the future paleontologists of whatever species next rises to intelligence to replace us.

I see the same mechanisms in most “anti war” types. They stake their identities on their chosen villains in the same way that warmongers stake their identities on “terrorists.” They blame everything on Jews, or bankers, or corporations, or Freemasons, or “Illuminatis,” or whatever, and they angrily defend their viewpoints. Both sides (warmongers and “anti-war” types) simplify the world into black and white. Both deny their own participation in social ills. Both insist that they alone have the “truth.” In reality, all villains, real or imagined, only have power if a sufficient percentage of the masses voluntarily give it to them. So, before we attack our chosen villain, let’s observe how our neighbors, and possibly ourselves, are aiding the conflict. I am no different. I often fall into the same traps I note here.

Your comment is useless!
Because the 'internet' was 'developed' for the pentagon, does NOT make it theirs! They where the first to use Licklider's vision to put it into reality and created the ARPAnet, but the concept has been existing since the 19 century, way before the first computers even existed. The internet was just a matter of time to be used commercially as well. Calling it a 'military invention' is not correct!
Supporting the Hezbollah financially and militarily? So did the U.S and still do! They even did so with Al Qaeda too and actually even created it. But Iran never started a war with another nation, in contrary to the U.S. When Israel would not have invaded Lebanon in 1982, the Hezbollah would not be existing. And Hezbollah is only considered a terrorist group by USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA , UK and the NETHERLANDS, BAHRAIN AND EGYPT. The European Union does not list Hezbollah as a "terrorist organization" for example and Hezbollah’s status as a legitimate political party, a terrorist group, a resistance movement, or some combination thereof is a contentious issue.
Why can't be Iran a nuclear power? What's wrong with that? Why should they not have the same rights as other countries do? Because they got oil? There is no valid reason to deny them such technology. Israel on the other side has even mass production in nuclear warheads although they are not recognized as a nuclear weapons state by the nuclear non-proliferation treaty but officially Israel neither confirms nor denies possessing nuclear weapons. They even have a chemical and biological warfare program regarding to the U.S Congress. They just promise that they won't be using them first in the Middle East. But they don't have too, because their missiles can pretty much strike anywhere on the world.
NO single nation or people HAS EVER done as much for so many as the people of this beautiful country? The U.S gives 0.21% of their gross national income as aid, ranking at the 19th place. There are 18 nations spending a higher percentage than the U.S. The EU alone spends about 3 times as much as the U.S itself! WRONG AGAIN!
Do you do research! Are you brainwashed and believe everything you hear and see on tv? Are you brain amputated? It gotta be something like that to have such a
distorted view of reality.

Brandon,
I agree that there is something else taking place behind the veil other than the obvious military-Zionist-banking benefits...or is that being redundant?
Anyway, there seems to be a dark catharsis that is accelerating for reasons that God only knows.
Well done article, although I wouldn't have been so polite.

A very well written article, although written over the heads of the war-drum zombie hoards whom easily out number the few that read it entirely. In my humble opinion, to educate the misinformed masses you must speak at their level. This message and more importantly the facts could reach further.

Can't understand how so many well-meaning, kind, educated and otherwise savvy Americans continue to fall for the war propaganda coming out of Washington?
It's almost as if they have been brainwashed to such an extent that they are unable to use their own heads to apply simple logic before swallowing what the govt is feeding them.

The war domino affect scenario outlined by Brandon Smith in his excellent article "Consequences to Expect If the U.S. Invades Iran" is not the only possible outcome of such a war. There is the guerrilla side which is already underway for some time now.
Another war domino effect could arise from the Muslim Arab in the streets of many Arab countries who are convinced that Israel, an Apartheid invading state to them, is clandestinely influencing the US to fight its war, proxy style.
I don't see how this is going to make Israel or the US any more popular with the average Arab man in the street than they already are. Invading Iran would probably be a stellar recruiting tool for violent activists. And they will act outside of their own governments, in a plethora of splinter groups. I don't know how this hornets nest is going to be controlled by the usual political channels.
Imagine what could happen if highly motivated and increasingly sophisticated terrorists really do get nukes and decide its time to pull the plug on Israel and maybe even give its patsy, the US, a little payback. Nukes don't need missiles to get delivered, they can get in the same way drugs do. A low level radioactive haze over much of the economically decimated US will not provide for comfortable TV viewing for the proletariat armchair warrior.
Surely bankers smart enough to engineer massive global Ponzi schemes can see how this thing can get out of their hands. Spilling innocent blood for profit is not a problem for them but at least they like to have control. What could they be thinking? Or are they not thinking and are blinded by a psychotic greed? I don't know what it is but its scary to me.
Maybe those doomsday preppers I see on National Geographic are on to something.

'The same day as the next false flag to invade Iran, America will be annihilated by Russia, China and the SCO. They have told us for five years that they will nuke us over Iran. This is the war of Armageddon and you can know it is now because of Planet X, its effects, and the chemtrails that hide it every day globally'.
Wow! Congratulations on being able to cram 4 different conspiracies into one comment! Listen we really don't know what the PTB have planned. They don't exactly call up FOX News and tell us. I don't recall any source which stated unambiguously that Russia, China, etc. would "nuke us over Iran". That would mean they cared enough about Iran to not mind getting nuked themselves. I don't buy it. Sorry but sounds like ill-informed, faulty-reasoning paranoia to me. As for Planet X, well that's WAY above my pay grade. Interesting hypothesis though. I had never heard that chemtrails' purpose was to hide Planet X. Amazing!

I am just wondering, if there will be any survivors in the US and in Israel if Russia and China gets involved into the war after Iran got attacked.
I recommend the author of this article to move out of the US immediately, because it seems that he is one of the few US-citizens, who does not deserve to get killed in this next world war.

Great article absolutely agree and its good to see someone brave enough and informed enough and intelligent enough to put this into the public domain.
What I find more frightening is that there a lot of people, who I speak to, who don't even see the threat of war, people who are more bogged down in getting through their own daily problems and dealing with the ripples of the financial crisis playing out in their homes.
I am convinced that its going to happen and it will happen within the next couple of months and there is not a damn thing anybody can do about it. The Israelis will bomb Irans nuclear research labs if they can find or get to them. Regardless of what anybody else thinks.
Time to go and find a place to live in the hills in North Wales......

Well Done Brandon:
thumbs up for you my friend..I,m an analyst from Iran and it is so surprising but I do the same job you do here... I talk about misunderstandings and totally unfair public or secret policies in my country and other parts of world by governments or behind the curtains brotherhoods (in Persian language of course), ..I do just the same.. Actually I rarely see such a nice and well written article in any languages.. you did it good and I wish you could be as existing and have as quality moral intentions as you have at the moment.. I totally agree with your points in your article..but what is so left innocent to talk about today is to consider humanity, good will and divine nature of goodness in human being regardless of being a Christian or Muslim or Jew... God gave us so much in this world and only asked us to be good...to not act like predators..to not act like greedy snakes which swallow a ten times bigger bite just because they are afraid of their future days being left hungry.. if we believe there is enough of everything on our planet to share and if we only think of new global constitution for all humanity.. a constitution to help and even force all people to be satisfied with what they have and only try to produce new and not stealing others... I hope all people around the world really think for one moment what are the differences between a HUMAN BEEN and predator and or a senseless, mindless animal?? If they can respond to this then they can chose good governments and act like a human.. I hate many bad things going on around us.. in Iran we have many none sense..very bad things.. in USA I see also many bad things.. I have been in many countries and I felt deep that human is going to NOWHERE and something should fix it.. I pray and I hope and I try as my part to fix this... please humanity...be as good as GOD privileged you to animals and put a very precious mind inside your skulls... be grateful to this bless and use it correctly to build us a world that every human and animal can live in peace and harmony...
Thanks again for your nice article and this very sound website... and good luck to every body reading this article and my comment too...

Oh how I wish more Americans would read and understand this very well-written article. It would take many books to cover what you did in a 15-minute reading. Unfortunately, the media has brainwashed such a big percentage of our population (especially those under age 35), that it is indeed almost futile to change perceptions at this point. All we can do is TRY.............and I hope you will continue to spread your message! God Bless....

The Iranian president was accused of threatening to wipe Israel off the map.
What he actually said was closer to, "God willing, the regime occupying Jerusalem will disappear from the pages of time."
He actually used the exact word, "regime" which Farsi has borrowed from some Western languages.
So, he only called for regime change, which is the same thing that the USA has been calling for in Iran.
This article could also have mentioned that the USA voted against a UN Security Council statement in 1986 to condemn Saddam for using chemical weapons against Iranians.
The USA has also supported Jundallah terrorists and MKO terrorists against Iran.
The USA also shot down an Iranian passenger plane in 1988, which the USA claimed was an accident, but the facts show otherwise.
Volumes have been written recording the Israeli atrocities and persecutions against the Palestinians and Lebanese, which Iran considers to be Muslim family.
The facts that could be presented to describe the backdrop of US aggression against Iran and the reasons for Iran's policies are too numerous to list, but as Brandon Smith states, quite a few Americans wouldn't care about that. A war which slaughters Muslims would be too enjoyable for them to pass up.

All we have to do now is get as many people as possible to read (and understand) this article.
Unfortunately there are many distractions that prevent most of the human race from joining dots so they are all prepared to smirk at lemmings as they fall off the cliff only to do so themselves.
Well done Brandon. Your thoughts don't need a rocket science degree to put together. A little common sense would do. Pity that this asset of humanity was banned 50 years ago and probably hasn't been seen in the wild much since then.
The triumph of the airhaeds is nearly complete. I am just glad that I live miles away from ground zero in a country about as far away from the points of conflict as you can get.
I wish you all well

I cannot help but think of Noth Korea doing exactly what Iran is doing and just stalling for time until they acquire a nuke. They have the platforms to deliver it to the 6 million people of Israel.
If I lived in such a small country surrounded by over a billion Muslims bent on mine and my people's destruction, you bet I would be doing everything in my power to stay alive, and so would you.
Very recently we have seen the horrors of Christian church burnings and religious clensing from Iraq, Coptics in Egypt and in Africa. Is it just a coincidence that Islam hates everyone but itself? Its not just the bankers and the powers that be looking to enslave the world. the religion of Islam is in the running too.
