Dennis, I helped start this group and its been pretty low key for the past couple years. I too have a desire to go off the grid, even it is just off the power grid. I'm near the west side of the state ("West Central") I have explored going solar but it costs so much to even get started. I have several other ideas but have not had a chance to research them. What is your approximate location and maybe we discuss such things on here.

Wasn't much going on then either. I created the group but there doesn't seem to be many interested.

So, is any one here really close to the dot on the map besides myself and Nathan Ranger?

I have a 1990 Ford Eddie Bauer Addition 4x4 truck for sale or trade. It is a westcoast vehicle and liberally is RUST FREE! New tires, New Shocks, cleaned up and polished and ready to go. A true must see!

Monday, Jan 23rd at 7 pm CSD; we will be having a virtual meetup at the embarassvalleytrader forum using the chat function. You need to sign up for the forum in order to log in to the chat. Monday Night's Topic will be "Getting Organized". There will be a short post in the Introductions forum at the sight outlining the different aspects of getting organized. The Outline will be posted Friday Jan 20th to give you an idea of what types of things that will be discussed in order to give you some prep time for what you want to bring to the table. I hope to see you all there. Here is the link.

Hey, John! Welcome. I've not done much with this. Will have to start paying more attention to Alt-Market.com. Been busy spreading the URL but neglecting to log in. Fixing your link:

Thanks for fixing the link. I am semi-computer literate so setting up these things can be difficult sometimes. Glad to meet you George. Hope we can talk sometime in the future.

Greetings to all in Indiana. Embarass Valley Trader is just across the border in Illinois. Would be great if we can get some trading relationships going on in our area. Hopefully in the near future have a meetup and get to know everyone. You are all welcome to come and join our group here at Alt-Market or over to our trading forum @

I'm not exactly "west central" but I am trying to expand my contacts and am growing a very large garden this year as well. I am donating a portion of the proceeds to homeless Veterans in my county.
Not many around here take the economic news seriously.

Hi. Will do my best to spread the word. I think I'm still a Oathkeeper so I'll pass the word there also. PMs are the name of the game.

My vision for this group is to have trade fairs where no $US are exchanged. Only barter, which would include silver and gold.

Is that something people would be interested in?

george---that would be great--we just need more to sign up--your group isn't on the alt map yet --let admin know so we can attract new members

Emily, Looks like Josh put us on the map! I just keep watching the growing membership list hoping for Indiana members. I hit various forums and places and keep Alt-Market.com in my signature or post it directly.
