I've been prepping for a few years, so may have some practical knowledge I can share. I am part of a small group in western NY that is trying to raise community awareness with some limited successes. I don't have time right now to get into specifics, but would recommend chrismartenson.com as a site with tons of information and a very civil well informed membership. That site was basically my portal into the world of prepping.
